With Costco recently launching on DoorDash and on Uber Eats and respectively offering discounted Uber/Uber Eats gift cards and discounted DoorDash gift cards to celebrate, it was only a matter of time before Grubhub also got in on the action. Costco.com is now offering discounted Grubhub gift cards (e-gift cards, specifically) to Costco members on their site. Members can purchase up to 2 sets of 2 $50 Grubhub e-gift cards for $79.99 each – effectively a 20% discount. And, members can purchase up to 2 units every 14 days – which equates to 4 $50 gift cards ($200 total).
To my knowledge, this is the first time Costco has offered Grubhub gift cards. It’s not clear how long it will last or if it will continue coming back. An effective 20% Grubhub discount has the potential to result in actually saving money (even after tip and delivery fees) versus going to a restaurant or store. When you pair these as a form of payment with other discounts, the savings can add up. However, with Grubhub, you’re probably not going to find as many other stacking opportunities as you would with Instacart or DoorDash, such as monthly credit card credits and the monthly Instacart Costco Executive credit. There also is a 4% fee on Grubhub for grocery orders.
This Costco offer is nearly identical to the discounted Instacart gift cards (currently not active) and discounted Uber/Uber Eats gift cards and discounted DoorDash gift cards offers that I’ve highlighted before. If you’re interested in purchasing Costco items via delivery app deals, check out the Costco warehouse prices versus Costco on Instacart, Costco Same-Day, DoorDash, & Uber Eats price comparison I wrote up. A link to the discounted gift card offer and terms are below. Note that Costco Grubhub prices are identical to Instacart’s (it is the Instacart platform, after all) and you can link your membership to get a price discount.
