Great news for anyone who makes online purchases and likes cash back rewards – Capital One Shopping recently increased their referral welcome bonus to $80 in shopper rewards. The typical Capital One Shopping referral welcome bonus offer is usually around $40 or $45, but it was recently increased to an outstanding $80, on just $10 in spend! How to Get the Capital One Shopping Referral Welcome Bonus
The Capital One Shopping referral welcome bonus is available to new users who:
- Use my Capital One Shopping referral link to create an account and verify your email.
- Add the free Capital One shopping savings tool via the desktop or mobile extension in a browser within 7 days of creating your account
- Spend at least $10 within 60 days. A Qualifying Purchase means a purchase via the Capital One Shopping extension tool that earns Capital One Shopping rewards. You can search on the Capital One Shopping site for partner stores (it’s most major stores).
- The $80 in Capital One shopping rewards will automatically be applied to your account within 30 days after satisfying these requirements.
In short: 1. get referred, 2. install the extension, 3. make $10+ in qualifying purchases within 60 days, 4. wait for your reward.

Naturally one may question whether they need to use a Capital One credit card on their purchases in order to earn Capital One Shopping Rewards. You do not. There is not a requirement to be a Capital One credit card customer either.
How to Redeem Capital One Shopping Rewards for Gift Cards
Capital One Shopping Rewards can be redeemed for gift cards to a number of different partner stores. Here’s how:
- Go to the My Rewards & Savings section of the Capital One Shopping portal site.
- Click “Redeem Now”.
- Choose which gift cards you would like to redeem your rewards for.

Offer terms may change at any time. The operative offer terms for both Referrer and Refer-ee will be determined at the time the Refer-ee creates a Shopping User Account using a referral link. This offer is available only for Refer-ees who are new Capital One Shopping users (real people who do not have and have not previously had a Capital One Shopping User Account).
