Costco recently launched nation-wide on the Uber Eats delivery app. In coordination with the launch, Uber Eats is offering a 20% off discount promo code for Costco orders and Costco has started re-offering heavily discounted Uber Eats gift cards for 20% off on Costco.com. Good news – you can stack the savings on both – more details on each below. You may also be able to add on monthly credit card credits through the Gold and Platinum AmEx cards for additional savings.
Additionally, for a limited time, non-Costco members can purchase a Costco membership directly through Uber Eats and receive 30% off their first eligible Costco order, and eligible Costco members can receive 50% off an annual Uber One membership for the first year, followed by 20% off in subsequent years. Note: having an active Costco membership is required for Costco purchases on Uber Eats. If you’re not an active member, Costco is also currently offering new members bonus Digital Costco Shop Cards.
1 day after launching on Uber Eats, Costco also launched on DoorDash. Costco, as a “membership warehouse club” has historically had pretty strong limitations around consumers being able to shop at Costco without a membership or on other platforms. I was surprised when they launched on Instacart a few years ago and even more surprised when they started offering credits on some Instacart orders. Costco still partners with Instacart for delivery, both on the Costco storefront on Instacart, and on sameday.costco.com. How to Get Discounted Uber Eats Gift Cards at Costco.com
At the same time as these launches, Costco also began re-offering discounted Uber Eats gift cards on Costco.com (discounted DoorDash gift cards are available as well) with pricing that is 20% off gift card value. They offered these gift card discounts in the past and in coordination with the launches they are now once again available.
How to Get 20% Off Costco Orders on Uber Eats
Additionally, you can use code UBERCOSTCO to get 20% off a Costco order on Uber Eats, with a max discount of $60 (i.e. $300 order). There is a minimum subtotal of $100 for the promotion. Is it Worth Shopping Costco on Uber Eats?
Is it worth shopping Costco on Uber Eats? It depends. If you’re planning on placing orders without the aforementioned discounted Uber Eats gift cards and/or an Uber Eats promo code, I’d say “no”. Uber Eats, like all other delivery apps charge service/delivery fees and, of course, you should tip your delivery driver for their time and costs.
At this moment, if you can stack BOTH discounted gift cards along with a promo code – it seems like a no-brainer. Unless you’re a crazy high tipper, you’re likely to come out ahead versus shopping in store – and you’ll save the time and hassle.
