AmEx Pay with Points Promotion Details & Link
When you enroll an American Express credit card with Membership Rewards, you can link your points to Amazon as a form of payment. With this promotion, you must activate it through the following link:

If your Membership Rewards account is not already linked to Amazon, you can do so here. If it’s not working, sometimes you can un-enroll a card by going to your payments page in your wallet (select the card, then choose “edit” and “remove from wallet”) and then re-enroll the card to try again.
The Value of the Promotion & Needed Pay-with-Points Can Vary by Customer
Since this is a targeted offer, the value of the discount may vary. I’ve seen the following percentage discounts over the years:
- 15% off
- 30% off
- 35% off
- 40% off
- 50% off
The maximum total savings and the number of points you have to use to trigger the savings in your cart can also vary. You’ll likely need to redeem either $5 (714) or $10 (1,429) in points to trigger the promotion (it will tell you at the promotion link above).
Important Note: you do not need to pay the full amount of your order with Membership Rewards points to get the discount – just the minimum listed. In fact, it’s usually advantageous to just use the minimum amount of necessary points and then pay the rest with whatever form of payment you would like as Membership Rewards points are often worth more in value elsewhere (Amazon values them at .07 cents per point).
