This one’s for all of those last minute tax filers out there. As you’re probably aware, the federal tax deadline is coming soon (Monday, April 18, 2022). Unless you are filing an IRS tax extension or your income level does meet the threshold for filing taxes, you’ll need to submit your tax return by that date. You will also have to submit any estimated payment due for last year, even if you file an extension. And, if you are eligible for last year’s COVID stimulus payments or the expanded Child Tax Credit, but have not received your payments, you may want to file a tax return ASAP, even if your income is below the minimum filing threshold.
A few of the affiliate partner discounts I previously highlighted in my best and cheapest tax software comparison have since expired, but if you have not yet begun filing your taxes this year, there are a few that remain. Here are the remaining discounts for paid (premium) versions of popular tax software:
- H&R Block: 25% off at link on paid versions (this is an exclusive discount for 20somethingfinance readers)
- TaxAct: 20% off at link on paid versions
- FreeTaxUSA: lowest price at link on state e-file
- Liberty Tax: $10 or $15 off, varies by paid online version
- eSmartTax: $10 or $15 off, varies by paid online version
- E-file.com: 30% off at link
The discounts on TurboTax and TaxSlayer’s paid versions have ended, though both programs, along with H&R Block and Cash App Taxes (formerly “Credit Karma Tax”) still offer free versions for simple returns.
