Capital One Shopping, a popular shopping portal site, is offering a generous (and easy) promotion for new referred users that: $40 in rewards for $10+ in spend! The typical Capital One Shopping welcome bonus offer is usually $30 on $10 spend – which is also a great deal. A similar Rakuten portal referral bonus promo typically results in a $30 bonus on $30 in purchases for comparison (and I’d also recommend taking advantage of that). How to Get the Capital One Shopping Referral Welcome Bonus
The Capital One Shopping referral welcome bonus is available to new users who:
- Sign up and install the Capital One Shopping desktop computer or mobile browser extension by clicking an eligible referral link (here’s my referral link)
- Make Qualifying Purchase(s) totaling at least $10 within 30 days of signing up. You can search on the Capital One Shopping site for partner stores (it’s most major stores).
- A Qualifying Purchase means a purchase via Capital One Shopping that earns Capital One Shopping Rewards.
- The bonus will be automatically applied to your account within 30 days after satisfying these requirements.
- The bonus will be awarded as Capital One Shopping Rewards.
In short: 1. get referred, 2. install the extension, 3. make $10+ in qualifying purchases within 30 days, 4. wait for your reward.

Do I Need to Use a Capital One Credit Card to Earn Capital One Shopping Rewards?
Naturally one may question whether they need to use a Capital One credit card on their purchases in order to earn Capital One Shopping Rewards. You do not. There is not a requirement to be a Capital One credit card customer either.
How to Redeem Capital One Shopping Rewards for Gift Cards
Capital One Shopping Rewards can be redeemed for gift cards to a number of different partner stores. Here’s how:
- Go to the My Rewards & Savings section of the Capital One Shopping portal site.
- Click “Redeem Now”.
- Choose which gift cards you would like to redeem your rewards for.
