I just would like to add that having an Xbox 360 allows for streaming whatever you want over your xbox live internet connection for 9 bucks a month plus whatever extra it is for the hard copy dvd. The streaming free unlimited xbox way will save a ton of money too. Thanks for your work… I love it.

I’ve been a Netflix user since September 2005. My relative cost per movie is 64 cents. Relative cost per DVD is 94 cents. I’d say I’m getting my moneys worth. Since I’ve been on the plan I’ve bounced from 1-3 unlimited plans. I think my usage would actually be better if I didn’t ignore movies while I was in law school. I’m currently on the 2 disc unlimited plan.

However, I’ve been thinking of canceling and renewing my membership in my girlfriend’s name (we live together). I find that since I use it so frequently I can never get new releases. I recently received Inglorious Basterds, which had been unavailable on my queue for months, despite always being in the number 1 position. I’ve read other places that the more you watch the more likely you are to not be able to get new movies. Anyone else have a problem with this?

I don’t have a plan. I don’t rent movies currently, so getting a plan would take my spending on rentals from $0/month to $5-$17 per month. If rarely see a movie at a theater, but if I do it’s because I want that big screen experience which, unless you have a sweet home theater set up, you cannot get from Netflix.

I love my netflix plan. While I might have to freeze it until I find my next job I might look at bumping up to the 3 at a time plan once I have one again. I watch movies constantly, while I’m cleaning the apartment, doing my homework, playing games, whatever so it’s a great value for me. Plus I’m a big anime buff which is super expensive at least in my town so being able to watch the whole series before I make a decision has improved my bottom line considerably.

I have the 3 at a time plan and have had Netflix since 4/2005. I love it. We aveage 3 movies per week plus occasionaly watch instant. The best part is NO LATE FEES. I feel I more than get my moneys worth.

Cool tool thanks for sharing… I know I drag my Netflix membership around some months with little or no value and then some months I’ll wear it out. It would be neat to have a usage report to see how much it is really costing me.

I used to have 3-out-at-a-time plan but recently downgraded it down to 1-out. These days, I only use netflix for their online streaming services. Now if they could convert all their DVDs for online streaming….

We just signed up for Netflix about 1.5 months ago. We are on the 1 at a time unlimited plan. It works well for us and I can see how it would cut back on our DVD purchases.
