My friend used to make similar comments and his trucks were always under cover when not in use but unfortunately his daughter was killed when a front tyre failed — the coroner’s report after extensive investigation was that the tyre had aged ind the rubber failed

Have four tires I just purchased from (the) tire rack.com. The date on two or the tires is 3310 and on the other two it is 331X. What does THAT “1X” mean?

That’s something that really needs thinking about and thanks for the useful info.

As frugal as I am, family safety is a place where you should not scrimp and save…. Just do the right thing and save save, tires are no exception!

Bought new tires a month ago after a flat and brought the other one home thinking the other best tires were put on the front. Those two were supposedly the ones I got two yrs ago. I brought the remaining tire home. Saw that video on tires last week and checked that date on the tire I brought home. It was 1507. Which tells me that the other 2007 tire was put on the front and the other one was the original tire (2000). He claimed he put the best tires up front. How could a ten yr. old tire be equal in tread with the 2007 tire? I’m having it changed. Good thing I brought that tire home. I don’t think I should be charged for the change.

I belive it would be a great safety factor if the large truck’s on our high ways were required to cover the wheels in rainy weather to keep the spray from blowing out on the smaller cars and truck windshields .when they pass me I have to slow down or move as far to the right as I can

I am wondering if the person who is suggesting that every one in America including Trucks and heavy equipment replace the tires based on age. Have you thought that rubber in tires ages differently
in the sun verses the shade, covered, uncovered? I think of our fleet of trucks and trailers, we inspect
every tire everyday. True we do not on the inside. However we also have tires that are 20 years old
with over a million miles on the original case. We have in 40 years of business never lost a single
tire do to blowout. We have high standards on casings. We also cover the outer tire when setting in the
sun for long periods of time. Do you replace your tires based on age? Show me facts that tires based
on age should be the rejection criteria and I will show you people who run tires low on air pressure
or hit something on the road. We run the same brand of tire. I know that tire manf. would love to get
the message out that 6 year old tires are putting your family in grave danger. Can you imagine the
message this sends. The tire company sells tires. Will the glass company or the air bag company be
next?

I am very glad to see this important message.
Most of the people have no idea about importance the tire age. For first instance I would recommend to publishing and advertising this fact.

My question is> I have 4 Bridgestone tire, from the appr. the same ages, molded numbers are 1903, but one of them molded 9602 on. It is strange, might be 96 week after 02 Januar7 first???

I am asking about Bridgestone customer rep. connection about this.
