I will cut my gym membership as I can find alternative way like jog around housing area or using gym facility at my apartment. I will eat healthy as my currently and will maintain it even my income was cut in half. I strongly believe that healthy life is important. If worst come to worst, I will find alternative solution to minimize the cost. Perhaps I need to spend more time to cook myself. I don’t really see doctor frequently as I maintain healthy life style.

Wishes everyone healthy always!

Sorry, can you clarify this:

"research showed that Social Security receiving males at age 60 had an average of 6 years more life expectancy if their income was in the top half of earnings distributions vs. those in the bottom half. This means that they would live an average of 23% longer!"

Does this mean they live 23% longer beyond 60? So the average male 60yo in the bottom half lives to about 84 and the top half lives to about 90?

Americans naturally go to the doctor more than necessary anyways, so going less is not a bad thing at all. My health is important to me regardless of income or economy, should be the same with most people. But it is probably something more people consider now, not even just in doctor visits. Little things like buying generic meds over brand names is something more people do now.

I've already cut my gym membership from my expenses. I'm hoping I don't need to visit the doctor because my co-pays are higher now too. Health care should be the last thing to go though, not the first.
